Has Margot Wallstrom grown wiser?
Hello.
I was searching for information on a few of the new EU comissioners and how they think about prohibition and drugs. I found some comments Mrs Wallstrom made back in 1998 like “We have a brave goal—a goal of a drug-free society. We’re eager to see arguments towards drug legalisation stopped within the European Union,” and “In an ever more drug liberal world, it is essential that Sweden holds fast to its goal of a drug free society”
I didn’t find anything later than 1998 so I was wondering if she has made any statements recently that I can quote and how she compares to the “average” swedish politicians. I want to know where she stands.
Incase you are wondering, Dutch commissioner Neelie Kroes pledged to defend the Dutch coffeeshop policy in the EC if necessary.
It will be interesting to see how these two compare.
Peace
