Har läst en bok som hette Pot Planet, cannabis culture around the world. Har dock supit bort vad författaren hette. Intressant bok dock, författaren reser runt lite i värden och smögar med diverse lokalbefolkning. Kolla upp

Har just läst klart boken. Tog lite lång tid, pga. att jag haft ganska mycket annat att göra…
Kan skriva lite om boken, om någon nu är intresserad…:
Eller bok och bok, det är mer av en rapport, och inte någon Ramström rapport då heller, hehe… Hur som helst så är det enormt, enormt intressant och lärorik.Den täcker allt ifrån hälsoeffekterna av cannabis osv. till att täcka den existerande forskningen på politiken, och de policys som finns runt om i världen på då cannabis.
Den är även enormt objektiv. I alla fall den mest objektiva bok jag läst på ämnet. Den tar inte specifikt upp vilka förändringar som behövs göras, bara att det absolut finns anledning att kolla närmare på det och det är helt uppenbart vart forskningen lutar åt.
Som sagt, ernomt bra bok/rapport, kan verkligen rekommendera den!Tar mig tillfälle att citerar en liten del ur den (och gör en liten cliffhanger
):The health harms from cannabis are clearly sufficient to justify substantial regulation on its marketing and availability. And it is important that the risks of health harms from cannabis use are communicated to users. On the other hans, public policy should take into account the relative risks in comparison to other common behaviours thet carry some risk. In this comparative context the risks are on the low side. For instance, the health harms associated with both tobacco and alcohol ise are clearly greater that tose associated with cannabis.
Our analyses considered the available evidence on the effects of criminal regimes on cannabis use and problems. At the level of criminalization of prodction and wholesaleing, there is little evidence on the effects of changes in laws, since there has been little experimentation (i.e. change in statues) in this area in resent decades. However, it is clear that the prohibition of cannabis production and marketing, accompanies by moderately intrusive enforcment, has not succeeded in destroying the market. In fact, markets for cannabis flourish in all regions of the world, and particularly in more affluent countries. The fact that the transactions are often imbedded in social networks reduces the harms arising from the markets themselfs, but this also points to the great difficulty in suppressing these markets in a democratic society which wishes to keep government intrusion to a minimum.
At the level of criminalization of use ans possession, there is considerable evidence from a variety of legal changes aiming to ameliorate adverse effects of a regime of fully criminalized use and possession. Fairly consistently, the finding has been that changes in penalties for use have little effect on rates of use, or no problems arising from effects of the drug. In general, the attempt at deterrence of use or possession through criminal laws has failed to deter use, although it may somewhat affect the freqency and duration of use.
The findings in this area carry immedate implications for policy. A major consideration in debating proposed charges in cannabis use and possession laws is often the issue of “the message it will send” to take some particular action……
