seems like a totally fucked up drug to me.

Long term addicts become thin, their skin darkens, particularly in the face on both cheeks which gives an appearance similar to a hepatic face. Dryness in the mouth is common as well as frequent micturition and often constipation. Some mention that the faeces are black and tend to be small in shape similar to goat faeces (Norakarnphadung, 1968). Withdrawal symptoms include, for example, hostility, aggression, flow of tears, wet nose, inability to work, aching in the muscles and bones, jerky movement of the limbs. These are all typical symptoms of kratom addicts.

Side effects from long term use include anorexia and weight loss, insomnia…
cut & paste from Erowid.
I also get the impression, that kratom is quite the opposite to cannabis. Kratom is commonly used by peasants, laborers and workers to overcome the burdens of their hard work, and also to keep them motivated.
I can not imagine cannabis having the same effect 🙄
In Thailand, where the drug seem to be consumed the most, it was illegalised August 3, 1943. This due to addiction, and the side effects mentioned above.
Today, kratom is classed in the same enforcement group as cocaine and heroin by Thai law, and has the same penalties.
THIS IS NOT A DRUG I WOULD CONSIDER.
And i think its very wrong to even compare it to marijuana. In that case, you could as well compare opium with marijuana.
