Lambeth Council’s attempts to stop the festival by taking us to court for minor licencing violations backfired spectacularly when the Judge found us not guilty and said that the festival organisers had ‘run a tight ship’ and ‘tried to keep to all the rules and regulations’. The Judge also ticked off Lambeth officers for not bringing their original notebooks to court and wondered why the prosecution was bought.
That said it is fair to say that many of the organisers felt (something feedback confirmed) we do need to make changes to the festival. Overall the level of sound from about 12 sound systems and five music/dance stages was too much. This year we are cutting back the number of sound systems to four, with a dance tent, hip hop stage, and main music stage.
